The Australasian PGA tour runs from November to February when the US and European golf tours have wound down. This assists in attracting players from the American and European tours - especially the increasing amount of Australian and New Zealanders playing on those tours. Tickets to most of these events are relatively easy to come by, especially on the tournament days of Thursday and Friday – most people other than yourself are still working on these days. This is unlike the days in the 1980's when Greg Norman was at his prime and used to draw sellout crowds. Several of the tournaments have now become co-sanctioned with the European tour and the second tier US Boy.com tour, which also assists in getting some of the major overseas golf stars down under. The Australian Womens Open
has also been reinvigorated by recent overseas appearances and although
tickets are quite easy to come by and you can catch a glimpse
of some of the top women players up close. |
